Personal trip planning · Zurich

You say where.
I do the rest.

I plan and book trips for people who have no appetite for twenty open browser tabs. Hotels I can actually judge, an itinerary that holds together, and one person to call instead of a hotline.

The view

A hotel is not a photograph and not a star rating. It is a business.

Whether a stay turns out well is not decided by the list of facilities. It is decided by how the house is run, how wide the gap is between what it promises and what it does on an ordinary Tuesday, and whether the room category you booked is worth the difference at all.

I worked in hotels before I planned trips. That is why this website carries my name and not an agency's.

More about me

The service

One thing,
done properly.

No menu of tiers you have to choose between before we have even spoken.

You tell me where you want to go and what matters to you. I pick three to five houses and write down for each one why it is on the list and what argues against it. I sort out the room category, put your preferences to the hotel in writing, book in your name, and stay reachable if something comes up while you are away.

You pay the hotel, not me. No money for travel services passes through my account.

What exactly is included

The process

Four steps.
No surprises.

So you know what you are getting into before you fill in the form.

  1. 01

    Enquiry

You write where you want to go and roughly when. Within 48 hours you get an honest read on whether that works with your dates and your budget. Free, no obligation.

  2. 02

A call and a fixed price

About thirty minutes by phone or video. After that you know what planning this trip costs. I start only once you say yes.

  3. 03

    Shortlist and booking

Three to five houses with a reason and a counter-argument for each, instead of a list of thirty. You decide, I book in your name.

  4. 04

    Before and during the trip

You get an itinerary that fits on one page. If something is wrong on the ground, you come to me.

About me

I am Fabian.

I read International Hospitality Management at EHL, then worked in the management trainee programme at the Park Hyatt Zurich before moving to FELFEL as a junior sales manager. Once you have worked inside a five-star house, you read hotels differently: not as pictures, but as an operation.

Twenty-four countries travelled, with the weight in South and Central America, the Gulf, and southern Europe. Where I lack first-hand knowledge I say so, rather than paraphrasing a brochure.

The longer version

The aim is not to show you more hotels. It is to take the wrong ones away.

Fee

From CHF 800.
And you know beforehand what for.

Planning a trip with one destination and one hotel starts at CHF 800. Several stops cost more, up to around CHF 2,000. I name the exact figure after our first call, before I start.

Most of what I earn is that fee, and it is due whether you end up booking or not. That is precisely what removes any incentive to steer you towards a booking that does you no good. If you do book through me, the hotel pays me a commission on top, out of its own margin and not on top of your price.
